The advancement of technology makes the Leap Motion Controller different from the voice and body recognition capabilities in the Kinect Sensor. Both devices make use of camera and microphone technology to enable voice and physical recognition.

But, Leap uses infrared optics and cameras instead of depth sensors for 3-D image identification. The use of familiar motion makes adapting the use of the Leap device relatively easy. The device is easy to install and the small size doesn’t clutter the desk kinect-sensor10space.

The device is about over three inches long, an inch wide and less than a half-inch thick. The infrared sensors sit behind a glossy black panel on top.

It has a connector port for a USB cable (included), and a green LED light on the front that lights up when it’s plugged in to a power source.

When we pulled the unit out of the box for our Xbox Kinect Sensor review, the first thing we noticed is how lightweight it was. The heaviest part of the console is the base, which is trivial because it needs to support the whole system. The overall size of the unit makes difficult to mount on most flat screen televisions. However, a mount can be purchased separately to make mounting easier.

The unit is glossy black, a perfect match for its counterpart, the Xbox 360, which it was designed to work with. You simply need to plug in the unit to the Xbox 360 expansion port and you are almost good to go. So far we have covered the hardware components in our Xbox Kinect sensor review, the next is the setup.

Multi-array microphone

When combining the Kinect sensor with Microsoft’s Xbox Live will have the ability to “video chat” with up to 4 friends or family members, all at one time without the need for headsets (provided everyone has the Kinect sensor), as the multi-array microphone, depth sensor and RGB camera will enhance your chat session in a more natural fashion and environment.

Some of the well-respected gaming companies in the industry that have confirmed to be working on future Kinect Sensor are Activision Blizzard, Bethesda Softworks, Capcom, Disney Interactive, Konami, MTV Games, Namco Bandai, SEGA, and Ubisoft, to name a few.

These renew names in the industry promise the path to even more exciting motion gaming experience through Kinect Sensor for players around the world in the future.

Kinect Dance Games

kinect-sensor-2Just like the Nintendo Wii and the Sony PlayStation 3, the Kinect is also a treasure box of games. One of its highlights is the Kinect dance games.

Since the Kinect sensor has just been released, Kinect games are still limited compared to the other established names in the industry.

Dance Central is just one of the few games available right now. This is a Dance Game where you can dance to your heart’s content, regardless if you are a dancer or not.
